Richard Clark, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer, Magellan of Arizona

Richard is responsible for the smooth operation of Magellan of Arizona. He oversees and ensures operational compliance with business, financial, quality and employee objectives. He also oversees the senior management team and works to develop and maintain cost effective and responsive operations throughout the company.

Jim Stringham
Chief Operations Officer

Jim is responsible for directly overseeing all fiscal and administrative operations for Magellan of Arizona, including the areas of finance, human resources, customer service, claims payment and billing, information technology and reporting. He is also responsible for the overall management of the service center, including development of policy and procedure, management of community support delivery system within budgetary goals, and coordination of relationships with the Arizona Department of Health Services Division of Behavioral Health Services (ADHS/DBHS).

Brenda Benage
Chief System Transformation Officer

Brenda is responsible for developing and managing the provider network, including contracting and credentialing. She will lead the transformation of the delivery system to Provider Network Organizations (PNOs), Crisis Response Network (CRN), and Qualified Service Providers.

Chris Carson, M.D.
Chief of Clinical and Medical Services

Chris focuses on improving the quality of care at our direct care clinic locations. In addition, he participates on the adult PNO transition team that negotiates upcoming contracts and ensures that a high-quality transition takes place for all providers and their clients.

Stephen Dannenbaum
Chief Clinical Officer

As the Chief Clinical Officer, Stephen serves as the senior clinical member of the Magellan Service Center (MSC) leadership team. He is responsible for the performance of all clinical staff positions in the MSC. Along with the Chief Medical Officer, he is responsible for all care management programs and outcomes.

Phyllis Knox
Chief Compliance Officer

Phyllis is responsible for Magellan of Arizona's Compliance Program. She oversees the RBHA's annual Administrative Review, quarterly Encounter/Data Validation Studies and other internal audits related to Magellan's contract with ADHS and review of regulatory policies and procedures, protocols and standards of compliance to ensure RBHA employees, providers and vendors comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and standards.

Sarah Maloney
Chief Administrative Officer

Sarah is responsible for all fiscal and administrative operations, and developing policies and procedures in the areas of customer service, emergency/business recovery, claims payment and billing. She also coordinates relationships with the State, plan members, participating providers and the community.

Carole Matyas
Chief of Clinic Operations

The Chief of Clinic Operations is responsible for directly overseeing all fiscal and administrative operations of the direct care sites, including the areas of finance, human resources, clinical service, billing, information technology and reporting. Carole is also responsible for the overall management of the direct care sites, including development of policy and procedure, management of the service delivery system within budgetary goals, and coordination of relationships with the state, members in care, partners and the community.

Andrew MeBane, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Andrew is responsible for the high performance standards of all clinical positions within the RBHA. He is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality, cost effective care. He is also accountable for the effective management of clinical policies, procedures and best practices.

Mary Robson
Ombudsperson

In her role as Ombudsperson, Mary is an advocate for fair treatment and service. She is also a source of information and referral, and assists in answering questions and concerns. As Ombudsperson, Mary also helps resolve concerns and critical situations.

Shannon Sieverling
Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Shannon is responsible for all internal and external financial reporting for Magellan, including all required monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Shannon is also responsible for coordinating the annual external audit for Magellan.

Chief Community Relations Officer

The Chief Community Officer oversees the community relations department, which is responsible for Magellan of Arizona's public, media and community relations activities, including issues management, brand development, internal/employee communications, Web communications, and oversight of Magellan of Arizona's government relations efforts.

Gaye Tolman
Chief Recovery and Resiliency Officer

As Chief Recovery and Resiliency Officer, Gaye is responsible for ensuring that all RBHA services and care offered by the provider network promote recovery, enhance resiliency, address the cultural needs of members and result in positive member outcomes.

Daniel Wendt
Chief Quality Officer

Dan is responsible for the development, design and implementation of the Quality Management/Utilization Management program. He works with the Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Clinical Officer to ensure that we are compliant with Federal and State laws and the requirements of the ADHS/DBHS.

Shawn Thiele
Chief of Child and Youth Services
